Netflix just dropped some serious casting news. No, not another rom-com or true crime docuseries about a goat farm that went wrong. This time, it’s an all-out, star-studded heist thriller called “The Flood Is Coming” starring none other than Robert Pattinson and Denzel Washington .
And yes, you read that right: Batman and Training Day are officially joining forces. But instead of fighting crime (or supervillains), they’re pulling off a bank heist with vibes so chaotic, even Ocean’s 11 would be like, “Nah, we’ll pass.”

What’s the Plan?
According to what little intel we have, the film will follow a bank guard, a teller , and a pro thief who team up for a risky operation — but not against the bank. Nope. They’re going after… wait for it… scam artists .
In short, this isn’t your average heist movie where someone says, “One last job.” It’s more like: “One last morally ambiguous job, but also maybe we’re the good guys now?”
Expect plot twists so twisty, M. Night Shyamalan might get a notification on his phone.
Who’s Behind the Chaos?
Scripted by : Simon Kinberg — yeah, the guy behind X-Men , Mr. & Mrs. Smith , and at least one scene that made you cry in 2003.
Directed by : Fernando Meirelles, the genius behind City of God and the recent series Sugar . So expect gritty visuals and possibly a lot of rain.
Also expected to appear : Daisy Edgar-Jones, fresh off roles in Normal People and Where the Crawdads Sing , who’s probably playing the smartest person in the room — again.
Plot details? Locked down tighter than a vault. All we know is that lines between criminals and victims will blur faster than a CCTV feed in a Netflix show.
What Are the Stars Up To?
Robert Pattinson : Fresh off the flop of Mickey 17 (the movie where he plays… himself?), he’s currently filming Christopher Nolan’s mysterious space epic Odyssey . So when he’s not busy confusing audiences with existential dread, he’s robbing banks in New Mexico. Multitasking!
Denzel Washington : The man, the myth, the legend. While he’s set to return as General Lucius in Gladiator II , he recently got roasted harder than popcorn in a microwave over his role in the film. But don’t worry — if there’s anyone who can bounce back from a shaky project, it’s Denzel.
When Can We Watch It?
No official release date yet. In fact, we don’t even know when filming starts. But with this cast and creative team? It’s already one of Netflix’s most anticipated originals.
So grab your popcorn, cancel your weekend plans, and prepare for a flood of hype.
