Hold on to your trench coats and invisible ink pens — Jessica Alba is back with a vengeance, and this time she’s trading in her baby wipes (remember Honest Company?) for high-stakes espionage. In 2025, the actress-turned-entrepreneur-turned-action-heroine will headline The Mark , a globe-trotting spy thriller that promises more twists than a plate of fusilli pasta.
Yep, the woman who once made us believe that sin city could be stylish (Sin City ), and that superheroes can wear swimsuits (Fantastic Four ) is diving headfirst into the murky waters of international intrigue. And honestly? We didn’t know we needed it until now.
Director and Screenwriter: Not Just Your Average Netflix Binge Watchers
The film will be directed by Justin Chadwick — yes, the same guy who brought us Tulip Fever , which was either a historical romance or an art history lecture disguised as cinema (jury’s out). For The Mark , he’ll probably trade tulips for tuxedos and maybe even add some car chases.
Penning the screenplay is Ronnie Christensen, best known for Incarnate — a movie where ghosts were literally punched out of people. So if you’re wondering how he’ll handle a spy flick… buckle up. Expect emotional monologues between knife fights.
Plot: When Babysitting Goes Wrong
At the heart of The Mark is Eden (played by Alba), a mysterious operative with more secrets than a Russian oligarch’s offshore bank account. Her mission? Take down a powerful and corrupt political network before they take over the world — again, standard stuff.
But here’s the twist: Eden decides to rope in Ben Dawson, a single dad who just wants to pick his daughter up from soccer practice without being shot at. Unfortunately for him, Eden turns him into bait by making the whole world think he’s a hitman.
Suddenly, Ben finds himself dodging not only soccer balls but also bullets from the CIA, Interpol, and every shady criminal group this side of the equator. Meanwhile, Eden has to finish her mission while possibly finding redemption — because nothing says “personal growth” like saving the world while hiding in a dumpster.
Production Team: Who’s Behind the Mayhem?
Producing the chaos are Arianne Fraser and Kia Jam — two names you might recognize if you’ve ever watched a genre film and thought, “This is weirdly good.” The production will be handled by Hoodlum Entertainment, the same folks behind Bridgerton — so expect opulent settings mixed with brutal fight scenes.
Financing comes courtesy of Highland Film Group and Aperture Media Partners — basically, Hollywood’s version of rich uncles who fund your cousin’s startup and hope this one doesn’t end in tears.
Filming kicks off in July 2025 in Australia — which means we’re getting kangaroos in the background, epic landscapes, and explosions against a backdrop of koala bears judging humanity.
What Else Is Jessica Alba Up To?
Fresh off her 2024 action-packed success in Trigger Warning , Alba isn’t slowing down. She’s also set to appear in Maserati: The Brothers alongside acting titans Anthony Hopkins and Andy Garcia. This time, instead of kicking butt, she’ll probably be sipping espresso and brooding dramatically in Italian suits.
Clearly, Alba is proving that age is just a number — and that she can do drama, comedy, action, and entrepreneurship all while still looking flawless in sunglasses.
So What’s Next?
If The Mark delivers half the excitement its premise promises, we could be looking at the comeback of the decade. Either way, one thing’s certain: Jessica Alba isn’t just Hollywood royalty — she’s James Bond with better skincare.
